how long ago was it that 4.20 was able to be downgraded ?


from the wiki : Note: If your firmware is 3.56 or higher then there are currently no ways to downgrade using software only. You can use Hardware flashers on any firmware, including 3.56 and above.

not sure if that's all my questions i've been surfing this site looking through the ultimate fool proof thread and just looking around in general. really don't want to crack my ps3 open as my soldering blows and i have michael j. fox hands. (no offence the guys a great actor)

why did you open a thread when you could have simply posted this question in the thread you mentioned?

and have you used the minver checker to check you can downgrade? otherwise if your system wont go to 3.55 or below then your going to brick your system.

to be honest i didn't think it was the appropriate place to ask that sort of question. this is the help section so it's not really the wrong place to ask.

i got 2 and both can go below 3.55 (also used the minver checker on both yes) the phat is almost one of the original ps3's (sent our 60 gig with sd slots in to get fixed they sent us an 80 gig with no sd slots) and the slim can go below 3.55 yes.
