n here comes the new trouble when trying to update this time
A serious error has occurred. Contact technical support for assistance .No red screen like others
the sad thing is, the support here in india is not technical, they hardly know anything about ps3
may be its a corrupted nand. so i ask it again, Can i fix this with E3 flasher. i can access the recovery menu but not the XMB

I have seen that before. You are in a update loop now. I did fix that by downgrading with e3 flasher one time. One other time I couldn't fix it. I kept getting errors when downgrading to rogero in fsm.
Changing the power supply might work also.

i have downloaded quite a few updates but none of them work.
so next thing i m gonna try is removing battery for some time( looking hopeful)
if that doesnt work tomorrow i will try e3 flasher n post results here after
