I Need Ps3 Blu Ray Help

Hello Ps3Hax, I was going to post this thread on NextGenUpdate but they don't exactly know everything about this and ZOMBIEKILLAH told me I should come and ask for help here.

So I got 2 questions, my 1st question is this if my blu ray drive is not spinning can I run back ups off internal or does the drive need to spin in order to run them? I believe the laser still turns so what can I do?
My 2nd question is if I remarry a drive from my ofw that is not the same model can I still use it on both my ofw and cfw, or will it no longer work on my ofw only the cfw?

Thanks for answers.

Not sure about the first one but to remarry a bluray drive to a different console you will need to downgrade it first to at least 3.55 to do the remarry process.

You will need to make sure that the drive will indeed be able to work in the other console as well because not all bluray drives can be used in different models.

Well I already have a ps3 on 3.55, so I what I want to know if I can remarry the drive from my 4.25 or 4.21 I can't remember if someone updated yesterday, but can I still be switching blu rays and using that blu ray on both ps3s or if I remarry will it only be compatable with one of them?
And aren't you from NGU if it is you then i'm a friend of yours their.

As long as the bluray drive model is compatible then you can remarry it and use it on either CFW or OFW. The thing about the remarry process is that after you do the remarry, and before you take it out of service mode, you need to put any bluray disc in so that playback can be reinitialized.

There are differences in the bluray drive models and some drives will not work in a different model PS3 (e.g. Phat console bluray drive to Slim console bluray drive).

And yes, I have an account on just about all of the PS3 scene sites so you probably have seen me around.

Yep, that is what I was saying.......the bluray drives change quite a bit each time that they make a new Sku model console. They do that I'm sure so that they can profit the most from it.
