New CFW Why? (discussion) - PS3Hax Network

Ok with all they hype going around about the a new cfw, can anyone please explain why we need it? I mean here are a few examples of what I see fit.

1. 3.55 can play 90 % of all games right now.
2. DEX can play the other 5 % of games.
3. There are no new features in the firmware that we really need.
4. People above 3.55 cant install it. (hence it doesn't help anyone above 3.55)

the only good reason i see fit for a new cfw would be so that we don't have to jack around with fixing eboots. But other than that I don't see any real use for one yet. feel free to discuss.

If this cfw works only 3.55 then is not needed imo, but if it have the keys(nearly impossible if it only works on 3.55) then is wellcome

But this could be good too if it only works on 3.55 cuz someone can make an exploit or something else and made this to work on 4.21 or 4.25?

I TOTALLY AGREE ... all the 5 points u mentioned are correct

If $ony could bring Showtime Media Centre to the official firmware on 4.26/4.30 this is all I'd literally want (and OtherOS but not gonna ask too much).

tbh ive not used my ps3 for over a year, im on 3.55 rebug, and for me dont need to do anything else at the mo....until the new gta comes out

I actually think that the dongle can be used as a FSM Dongle on 4.21
