Homebrew app to display internal temp. Is it possible?
Today I was on PS3DevWiki and I stumbled upon a page in which it said that it's possible to display the temperature of the CELL BE using a syscall. I was wondering, has anyone tried to code an app to take advantage of this? Source: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Thermal (right over there, where it says "Readable in software:..")
EDIT: Here's a simple app that allows you to see the CPU/ GPU temperatures easely, in real time: http://rghost.net/40671610 - works perfectly on Kmeaw 3.55 Thanks to @3141card for making this awesome app and also thanks to @haxxxen for sharing this! Last edited by itudy; 10-01-2012 at 06:59 AM. |

that i'm aware, and after trial and error by myself...there is and there isn't a way.
the only way to allow that is in service mode. the ps3 won't allow the syscall to run otherwise. short answer = no.

Imo that is just needed when you replace the thermal compound, to see if the temperatures are alright. But well more homebrew is always good

some user on german board boerse.bz has coded an app, which he claims uses the syscall to display cell and rsx temp...it displays two values but if these are really true i cannot say. on my side the 2nd value is 6° more than the first...
