So I suggest people who have used this app post their temps while idle and after they have played a game (for a set mount of time), for Fats and slims.

@ploggy That would at least give as a good medium as to what temp we should be running at. It needs to be a controlled environment though. Like the same game played with disc or without disc, and maybe even the same model ps3. The reason for the same model ps3 is older bigger chips are going to run hotter naturally. Newer slims and fats have smaller CPU and gpu so they will be cooler running. I am loving all this potential tho.

Delighted to see this, only other addition I'm still waiting for is a fan speed adjustment via software.

We should all post the results we're getting along with model and if you've changed the thermal paste etc. And maybe try do it from a cold boot (mine was idling about 20 minutes before hand, from first boot of the day).

let's all choose Uncharted 2/3 (drives my PS3's fan crazy during summertime) and we should run it for 45 mins. We gotta move quick if you want to see the temps close to playing the game, otherwise the PS3 will cool the CPU /GPU down.

We could choose another game, as long as it's an exclusive and it's known to heat the PS3 up.

so, as you can see, we have a sh*tload of syscalls on PS3DevWiki. Wouldn't it be cool if someone made a software that would implement some of the more useful syscalls?

I have uncharted 2 /3 but I run them discless. Let's do a list exactly like @Mistawes on cold boot, and after 30 minutes of gameplay with uncharted 2 running discless. If this doesn't work for anyone, let us know and we can implement a new controlled environment for after gameplay temps. Thanks everyone who is going to participate. Just awesome!

thx for bringing this up and haxxxen for that link, seems to work fine (rogero3.1 tested) and i think the temps are acurate, maybe a little to high here on my end, 70 is normal for PC it's ok for PS3 right? and damn woman for cleaning the tvscreen like that
