Im about to try and downgrade using fsm from ofw 1.94 to 1.90. Do I just toggle fsm,put the lvl2.diag and the updat.pup on the USB, then after that put the step 2 lvl2diag ona USB and let it come out of fsm, just like when doing it with the e3? Will I need to toggle qa after since I went to a lower firmware?

noticed ur other topic, for FSM not sure but the 341 lv2diag files exit/enter should work for <<3.41 to get out of FSM, on my end tested the diff software flashers and Preloader is a nice one, and because the wiki recommended u to backup dev_flash2,3 before doing anything, let's say u can get into FSM like usual, do nothing first get ur dev_flash folders backed up using Preloader, it works the same as u do for "firmware install" in FSM with file "enter" instead plugin USB with "advanced.cfg and lv2diag.self" http://www.2shared.com/complete/40fTskEK/pre3_01.html
on root, boot the ps3 and it will backup all 3 flash folders to bin format, when using the below> config it should get u out of FSM at the same time, if not?! use the normal step2/exit lv2diag from 341


advance.cfg to backup dev_flash folders+exit FSM (note:tested and working on 355!)

@haz367 thanks for the reply. So if I understand you correctly, I should get into fsm, then use preloader to backup dev flash, then put ofw 1.90 and lvl2 diag on USB and run them, then use the lvl2 diag for exiting fsm. Then I guess I would be on the lower firmware and then copy over the dev flash files for bd playback. Then toggle qa flag and update to 3.55 ofw. Sound right? And the 3.41 lvl2diag you are talking about, are they same ones as the 3.55 ones I have from the downgrading with e3 flasher processes?

thats what i'm not totally sure of = the lv2diag files... never been lower then 341, atleast for backing up dev_flash a fast way would be preloader after u trigger FSM, then the other part u should try lol... untested overhere but why should it fail, follow wiki's instructions using 341 lv2diags, i can't think they are only for 341 then again can be a wrong guess, but to get flash backups/restore try preloader while in FSM and the posted "advance.cfg" has "exit FSM" set after backup, if u do install the firmware after it, edit that line to ;0 and for restoring the dev_flash2,3 bin files after firmware install edit the advance.cfg for restore dev_flash folders, hope it works out

Ok thanks. So I downloaded the upload you gave me. I will change the .cfg file accordingly. What lvl2.diag is that in the zip file? Is this the lvl2diag I should use for the entire process and just change the advance.cfg? I am going to change the configur file to backup and leave me in fsm, then I am going to put the lvl2 diag with a updat.pup ,the dev flash backups.bin and then reconfigure the .cfg file to have it restore the backups and then have it exit fsm. Thanks again and I will post back.
