PS3's internal filesystem is ufs2...

UFS2 largely solved the storage size limits imposed by the filesystem. Unfortunately, many tools and storage mechanisms still use or assume 32 bit values, often keeping FreeBSD limited to 2TB
I will see, if I can't use the 3 Tb drive as internal I will connect the 1.5 Tb drive to it and maybe use a sort of swap system like @bigo93 suggests, changing eSata cords isn't that difficult
I ordered the parts I need (sata male-female cord, Esata bracket) yesterday so I will let ya all know in short time...

OT: a new CFW is not needed by me for now, but how about if $ony fixes the DEX hole and blocks future updates for DEX?

If its a genuine 4.10 cfw that will install on firmwares 4.10 and lower then I think it is a benefit to the scene, but if its just something that installs onto 3.55 then who cares? To me that isnt even a cfw............merely a firmware exploit.

I will use it of course.

We dont need a new CFW, we need a new exploit to allow people on any FW to enable homebrew.

The window of opportunity is closing to get a machine that can be downgraded to 3.55.

It would open up the field if any PS3, any model, could have same abilities as 3.55 CFW.

The reasons for a new CFW...
1. 3K and 4K models
2. PSN Access
3. Eboot fixing is not just a hassle but more of a trial and error experiment (external, internal, mirror and what the hell not)
4. Playing backups of legit games purchased even after they are sold
(Example, I sold my copy Heavy Rain and later a Move Patch was released which I could enjoy as I had a backup of the game on my HDD )
5. If there is a CFW, it should be released and not kept hidden irrespective of requirement as that is for users to decide same as devs can decide about releasing their stuff or not.

However, as the new CFW is supposedly said to be only for 3.55 users it is of no advantage whatsoever because of DEX. We need to address bigger challenges after 3.55.

That's my two cents

Nah i doubt it we will see some *exploit* or something on 3K/4K series.
Those PS3's were made just to **** up with the end user even more.

CFW will be always the catchphrase to get into discussions with 3.55 as the highest and unique hackable firmware if buy or have a 3K/4K is only for BD playback (if you have a secondary one with CFW).

Also i doubt that are many other challenges in terms of hardware/software solutions for the ones i mentioned.

If you want to explore your PS3 and push it to the limits = 2K series or below.
If you want bah want it's almost an imperative to BD playback or you just can afford some 2K or below well 3K/4K are the way.

New games on all current updates. Something thats takes a lot of my time is to take a game copy it to hard drive then move the files to my compute to see what I can do with them.
I will spend weeks working on them, learning how they work and making changes.
Then load them back on the PS3 and test. The outcome is great lol then start all over again.
For someone like me with the lack of knowledge to make my own game this is as close as I can get.
I know some of you are going to say THEY HAVE GAME FIX! and yes I have even fixed a couple of eboots myself. These are not the same as an update eboot and some of those I have not been able to be fixed.
With a CFW that allow you to use any newer encryption would eliminate these problems all together.
Now lets talk about DLC's and activation. By know everyone knows about reactpsn and yes it works, lol but what a pain in the a$$. With a new CFW activation shouldn't be a problem.
We all had a taste of CFW 3.55 online but even with that it would not activate any act's. Now I have all these paid for downloads that I can't use on my 3.55.
So this is my take on a new CFW 4.21 and I think it would get me to get my 3.55 back out and start enjoying it again.

PS3 internal drive size limit is 1TB though....not 2TB.
What's up with that?

I definately need a new cfw since my 3.55 ps3 died a couple of days ago. A new 3.55 ps3 is hard and expensive to find so it would be awesome to be able to jailbreak the newer consoles. I mostly use showtime and emus and play most of the bigger titles.
