so is it possible to control the fan speed in GameOS? what's the syscall for this one ?
this syscall's are for read information, like temp's, maybe current fan speed, I don't know.
but not for write information.

the values for setting fan speed are 100% stored on eeprom, i not play with my
eeprom! if is brocken i have a fullbrick

usage of syscall 383 in multiman and other app's are easy, but in XMB I don't know.

It needs a fresh reflow now but I got one of those laptop cooling pads which keeps it down an extra 5°c.
My fans are also at always 75% as well.

You can do the 12v fan mod through software on a JTAG just to let you know

Yeah.. I did it the HW way when I originally Jtagged it (the day after its release)
I eventually ripped that off once FSD incorporated it

So my PS3:
According to mM
CECH2502
CPU 62c (idle for 10 minutes)
RSX 62c (idle for 10 minutes)

15 minutes of Tekken Tag 2
CPU 63c
RSX 65c

Quite happy with that

New multiMAN is online ready to download with temp display

Go to your setting and enable temperature display, "Auto" will cycle between CPU & RSX every few seconds.
"ON" will have it permanently display next to the clock
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
Also:
It will show in red if either CPU or RSX temp is >=80'C

Which is a great big warning sign to rip that sucker apart and slap some new paste on and clean out the dust as well!

Man this couldn't have come at a better time, now I can check if my ps3 is still at risk of overheating and YLOD on me. Please have a look at the hell I've been through in the last few days if you have the time.

Thanks for the tip and update!

°F, the Fahrenheit Scale (used in the US), and
°C, the Celsius Scale (part of the Metric System, used in most other countries)

tested on 3 consoles
1phat (coldboot CPU 62/GPU 58
slim 2004 (coldboot CPU 52/GPU 47 )
