There are ther things that can throw the ps3 into fsm. Like some cell phones, psp on certain firmware, some t.i calculators, and then all the fsm dongles. Look around for compatible devices to throw ps3 into factory service mode. @playerkp420 knows of a some for sure.

thank youuu! yeah i read some psp thingies to throw it in fsm.. but then ppl said like something like you'll be stuck there forever because fw over 3.56 will freezse you....... unless um, when i finished with e3... what firmware did it land me on ? cos i just finished all the e3 steps.. then took it out, now i'm not booting yet cos idk what firmware im on or how to do it without a dongle lol

basically, is it safe to do the psp method? thanks

If you followed the guide to downgrading with e3 flasher and you are at the step where you need to enter factory service mode, then you are ok to enter. After you enter fsm, you will be installing rogero cfw with the step 1 lvl2diag in factory service mode. When it is done, you will be on 3.55 rogero cfw and then you can use step 2 lvl2diag to exit fsm. The only time you will be stuck in fsm is if you are on firmwares above 3.55. You are going to be in 3.55, so you will be able to exit fsm.

Although to use the psp method it needs to be on a certin firmware. I think like 5.00 or something like that. Don't quote me because I have never used it or researched it. I am going off of something I think I remember reading a while back. My memory ain't what it use to be.

Yes. I am pretty sure that is the app for psp to enter fsm. Although I have no clue how to use it. As I said, I am not the one you want to ask on these things, because I have absolutely no experience using anything other than the e3 card reader. The e3 flasher unlocks the console by flashing the downgrade.bin then you use fsm to downgrade to rogero using the rogero.pup and lvl2diag.
