Great job to all the guys that worked on this!
It would be even better if this could be integrated in the xmb or in game xmb in order for the temperature readings to be as in real time as possible instead of having to waste 5+ seconds to launch mutiman. |

So well yes... is true we cant meassure the maximuns (with full processing/graphic load) To make it work in a game we need to use a plugin (a module)... and the obvious candidate is dev_flash/vsh/module/xmb_ingame.sprx And for completion (to have the same display in main XMB to meassure standby) dev_flash/vsh/module/xmb_plugin.sprx The use of the syscall is the same, but is needed to rebuild this files, is a little different work but they have pointed how to make this work, lest see what happens this next days ![]()
Also, i noticed some games (not all) when you "pause" the game the temperature is the same than when playing (lol) It depends of the game, so test several, and test the same game with different graphic load (you can play a chapter that is full of things blowing throught the air... in this chapter the temperature is higher than in the "intro") --------- Again... thanks to all involved Last edited by sandungas; 10-02-2012 at 08:50 AM. |

Implementing temp. display via XMB would risk a brick? When users are playing game, it is more logical to view the temp by press the PS button.
Having said that, it is still great progress! I have to check out the latest MM!

Only a "semibrick", because you can break the interface (the XMB has a error and fails when loading the .sprx)... but the rest of the important files of the firmware are fine
In this "semibrick" state you can install a .PUP from a USB with the same firmware and the installation restores the broken files |

http://ps3devwiki.com/wiki/LV2_Funct...s_tty_Syscalls 409 returns (id, st, policy, mode, duty) or something anyone knows what that could mean? this is only reading, not setting. :0 |

@3141card i was thinking you can take your app as a "medium-long time" project, probably there are other interesting syscalls (something related with threads and processing load in percentages ?), in my noobs eyes it seems if there is something similar that the temperature reading, you can implement in the same way, and because there are a lot of "unknown" syscalls, there can be interesting things left There is also other info can be displayed like IDPS, PSID, Hardware references, etc... but this is different than syscalls, another history In resume, you can convert the app in something like a "system manager" |
