Hi,
I've tried everything, can't be done! I've followed the e3 guide at their site: http://www.e3-tech.net, but I can't put my ps3 into factory service mode. The e3 flasher is installed and i tried to put it into factory service mode by using a e3 card reader dongle and a ps3key dongle, none of them work.. Has anyone managed to downgrade? ![]() ![]() ![]()

what model ps3? need more info than i tried and failed. It is most definetly user error. Both the e3 card reader and the ps3key will put it in fsm as long as you are doing it right.

Are you certain that you have the Jig firmware loaded on the PS3key? I use the PS3key myself and haven't had any issues. You may want to try to reinstall the Jig firmware on it and try again.

Yeah, I downloaded the downgrade FIRMWARE.BIN for my silabs based ps3key and put it on my ps3key.
Is it something to do with SYSTEM.DAT? Havn't updated that file. Mayby the e3 flasher isn't installed correctly, but it doesn't give any faults at the other steps. |

with the e3 card reader, you have to drag and drop the e3 card reader downgrade.bin to the folder called e3upgrader. The light will turn from red to blue. Then unplug power to the ps3 and reapply power and then power then eject quickly. the light should go from red to blue and then the console should shut off. Make sure you are using the e3 card reader downgrade.bin and not the e3 downgrade.bin

Ok, thats what I did.. guess the dongle isn't the problem then..
In the steps before putting it into factory service mode i used files from e3-tech.net. one thing i thought about.. At the step where backing up original dump it backup three identical files: bkpps30.bin, bkpps31.bin and bkpps32.bin. I hade to rename one of them to bkpps3.bin to get the next step to work. Is that how it should be done? |

Are you sure you're doing the JIG button sequence properly to put the PS3 in FSM?
What you have to do is : unplug PS3, then plug it again and QUICKLY press power button, then eject button (quickly again).
