The best part of this whole fiasco is he has gotten more fame from having someone leak his "cfw" than if he had actually released something in the first place. People should just stay away from news like this. How do we know he was just not talented enough to reverse some of the things he locked down and so he added extra security around them so no one would know he has got no skill. Then after the things are locked down he orchestrated this whole elaborate ruse to get his thirty seconds of shame. Coldbird also how is it our fault you (or someone on your team) picked an untrustworthy person to be a beta tester? How are your decisions our fault? You and I both know, Mr.Coldbird, that you just wanted an excuse to throw a temper tantrum. In the words of a certain super moderator around here, "GROW THE F|_|CK UP!!!!!".

Sadly I wish this never saw the light of day. First the Vita has already hard enough time getting 3rd party support now people introduce the whole piracy thing and its game over.

Its not even a year old and i fear for the life of the Vita.

This does not enable piracy on the Vita, it may allow piracy on a PSP Emulator, there has been Piracy on the PSP since it was released, so this hack does nothing that wasn't around already.

I don't per se, but if you read his goodbye blog post he is clearly motivated by anit-piracy moral and that it isn't the "right" time to release the hack because the Vita is weak at the moment because all Vita games are rubbish (his words basically). He then goes on to say that the only reason to own a Vita is for legacy support and his hack would open mass piracy to that and the Vita would die.

I'd say that if that is his stance then it's likely this hack would never be released. Or if it were to be released we're talking at least a year. You can tell from his tone that it's not likely he had any intention of releasing it.

I understand this, but see the problem is if there is even a possibility of piracy the vita will fall. The publishers are not going to give the vita a shot if there is a good chance their work will be put out to pirates. As soon as PSP was exploited freely the games stopped coming, the Vita will be no different. There are only what maybe a handful of decent games on vita as it is.

Until Vita games come down in price along on the same lines as android and ios games then the vita is doomed! Why would I pay $50 for a vita game when I can get somthing similar on the ipad for 4.99 and sometimes as cheap as 99 cents.
