PS3 Power Supply "PSON" Signal

Hey guys!

I am new to the site and have read a few(mostly all) threads about all the mods to the ps3 using a pc power supply as a psu. I have an 80gb that the psu went out, and instead of replacing it I had several pc power supplies laying around, so I did all the mods with the information I was able to find at this site (thanks to all the members that provided info on their research and work!!) and some minor self taught electronic engineering.

Well down to my question is if anyone has been able to figure out what signal is being sent from the PS3 I/O controller that turns on the ps3 in order to kick start the power supply???

I have tried a relay from the fan, and the cd drive and it seems that the motherboard requires the power first before starting these devices. I am sure that nothing in this power supply its out of this world, but I am not an electronic engineer so all the help I can get helps even if its a point in the right direction!

P.S. My intentions are to automate the psu just as the factory one which starts when the ps3 is triggered off standby.

@xsidx , totally overlooked your post.

the ps3 need a working 5V for standby mode, and it will send a 3V3 signal to the psu to startup the 12V, when powering on.

schematics for your model :
