Format my PS3

I want to format my PS3 HDD so which option I should choose ? is it "Format Utility" or "Restore PS3 System" ?

And when I finished from formating process should I re-install OFW 3.55 or there is no need to do this procedure ?

And should I also re-install CFW 3.55 Kmeaw or there is no need for this everytime I format my internal HDD console , So installing it first time is enough ?

My PS3 model is : Slim 320gb hard disk capacity ...

If you are wanting to format then you will use the Format Utility not restore.......the restore just returns all settings back to default.

If you do a fresh format then you will need to re-install your OFW then go to your CFW.

When you do a fresh format it will require you to also install OFW after it formats......so you will need to go to OFW after format then you can then install back to your CFW.

It's an annoying thing to install them again one by one but like you said there's no other choice to do then .

But if for example lets say someone format his console and installed directly CFW without installing OFW first , What will happend then to his machine , is it will "Brick" ?

I really couldn't tell you for certain because I have never tried it that way.

How come you are wanting to format anyhow?
