once this is working and on 3.55 i wouldnt mind seeing a bdvd nor dump from it as it never would have been above 3.55 (something i want to check regarding downgrading and de-hashing) i think there is a dumper tool for the bdvd nor if i can find it and you dont mind dumping it.

I don't mind but correct me if I'm wrong, you are saying bdvd NOR dump. This is a NAND console. Am I crazy or is that a typo due to it being nearly 5am your time.

the bdvd board has a NOR chip on it its smaller (than the ps3's that have mainboard NOR) and square

So I tried to update again, and it won't recognize the firmware it is on 1.94, but I did get it to install both 3.55 noBDnoBT and 3.50 ofw to e hard drive, then when it goes to update, it gets to 3% and then gives me the 8002f147 error. I did the restore ps3 system and it asked me if I wanted to do quick or full format. I chose quick because full said it would take 3 1/2 hours to complete. No luck there either. Then I unplugged the battery like playerkp420 said, and when I turned it on, it wanted the time and date and the theme had changed, but still no updating. I can't solder worth a crap so progskeet isn't an option. I am outta ideas.

yeah, i lifted it, because some people claim that the heat from the psu add more heat to the mainboard and it would ylod faster.
there's also a fanmod onboard, i can set it to lift off speed

Does the console work? This ps3 at I have that won't update really chaps my ass. It is beautiful. No dust, never taken apart except by me, no scratches. Just awesome condition and low firmware, but won't update. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh.

it sort of still works and it's on 3.55, but i'm affraid to really use it for gaming, it was my first ps3.

still own an 40GB ps3 with a drive problem on 3.55, no ylod yet, and it looks to run cooler than my ghetto one.
