Microsoft tried their best at gaining the Japanese gamers, with exclusives, price drops and whatnot but the Japanese prefer their own gaming companies than a foreign.

The first gaming company who started the whole motion game thing was Atari with LeStick.

I've played on Wii but the motion sensor didn't work very well, guess I tried too hard on it.

Not to forget, $ony by PS2's time was already working on PS Move where there are videos of it on YouTube (it's a big plastic pencil with a ball or whatever on a PS2 console). Nintendo didn't revolutionize but it did re-open a dead market in a way.

@Annelies : Shovelware is about 90% of Wii software, Companies seen all the casuals buying the system and said why not.
@Divine Flaw : I agree it is the same reason the WiiU is selling. Something that seems like an awesome idea in the R and D dept, But in the real world it ends up short. And as @zro214 said Sony stole the whole idea, Down to the design but in black. And now they plan on using the Vita as a controller like the WiiU tablet. Sadly the idea might have worked if the Vita was failing badly and have a over $200 price point.

Actually S**Y were demoing a predecessor to the Move circa 2004. They just didn't have the balls to take the risk and release for PS2. Sony's wand on the PS2 - YouTube

@Rautz that's exactly what I was going for but I couldn't remember its video name, so I just described it.

Still, all this motion gaming stuff is thanks to Atari's LeStick, it's where it all commenced.

If nintendo didnt change the game with their wiimote why did xbox and ps3 have to go back to the drawing board. Atari may have made the first move controller but it obviously failed at reaching the consumer like nintendo did. My point is nintendo won this generation and will prolly loose the next one cause the competion already knows what is up against . As far as the ps3 move i didnt know that sony wanted to release it for ps2 you learn something new each day. But wat about the kinect is that a ripoff of the eye toy or what

Each console of this generation had their positive and negative points, I could do a list, but it's subjective.

Though, for Online Gaming Experience, Xbox LIVE has it won, it gave the gamer the freedom of talking and having all kinds of chats/parties.

As for paying, I can't complain £1 for an excellent service. Hopefully next generation Xbox won't change much because trolling on Xbox is awesome.

Love how people take gaming too seriously and then a troll ruins it.
