I was reading up on that method coz i found the switching of default games a hassle but am not going to try it. I have 4 32gb usb sticks and a ext HDD with bdemu partitions so i don't need it. If you haven't been able to boot the disk via DEX mounter, you proly should try the usb version to make sure you have a good rip and .pkg fix.

The PS3 will always have to reboot if you change boot method. To be clear for 4.21 games on FW DEX 4.21 the debugg settings should be:
Boot mode: Release mode
Blu ray disc access: BD emulator ( usb )
transfer rate pacing: hdd native

For 3.55 games on FW DEX 3.55 peek and poke using multiman dex:
Boot mode: Release mode
Blu ray disc access: BD drive
transfer rate pacing: hdd native

Boot 4.21 games from xmb
Boot 3.55 games through multiman dex as usual,

Thank you, I think I will try the external when I get the chance. I was just holding out on doing that because I thought it would in game mounter. But I suppose I will have to format my external and try that out.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd be able to play the 3.70+ games that are only playable on DEX and still be able to play you 3.55 backups once your back on 3.55 dex fw with peek n' poke. So those games that require a bd disc in the drive such as Heavy Rain, GOW3 would need to be tested with the BDEMU External HDD method. I've seen users posting on and older thread that God of War 3 works fine via BDEMU, so in that case yeah... your busted blu ray drive wouldn't be a problem.

Really this is good to know, thank you. I don't follow the scene as much these days so i must've missed this. Anywais there's no point in staying on CEX at this point i guess. I'll keep the slim on CEX tough. I have plenty hard drive space to play with on my fat with 500GB scorpio blue.

I got close to getting this game working, I decided to choose the Chris campaign and it kept me stuck at that Please wait screen. So I rebuilt it in ps3gen and got the sounds to work again as well but then it kept freezing me with the sound going so I rebuilt it again and then it started calling itself Biohazard 6. I think I am chalking it up to my PS3 being too old for this stuff its a Japanese console, I bought it before they came to America.

On a side note does this new USA release work at all? Resident_Evil_6_USA_PS3-HR ?
