Game sharing only works on two consoles, but...

What about videos from the psn?

Can they be shared as well?

I feel interest about this type of video (also same on PSP) but never had in hands one example. Can you tell if there are any other file attach than the video? (when it s free content, don t have irrc)
The sharing method, you mean with transfer utility or with user account? (on your title, it said it s only 2 console, so they changed this feature irrc, it was up to 5)?
Sorry, i have more question than any answer

Yes, used to be 5 now only 2.

The sharing method I ask about is with user account.

If select backup to usb from xmb there will be video with .001 extension(but is MNV format) and a second smaller size file with same name but .BKP extension.

@butnut Video can not be shared & you better back it up if you ever bough any video. I believe free video has no DRM..

Yeah was 5 now is 2 ,but if i remember correctly if you already bought anything game related off PSN when it was 5 i think you can still download to 5 PS3s "Not positive but i did hear this ,after the change" For video can only download once to 1 activated PS3 no matter what. If you lose it "Your screwed" & have to buy it again if you did not back up the video & if you want it back = "Sony are such thieves"

I did get them to let me download all my video after i lost everything cause the recovery failed on my PS3. I called them & they told me "no re-downloading paid for video content" I then i told them they are basically stealing/ripping off there own customers then. If they do not allow us who already bought video to re download again "That is like stealing"

I gave them more hell then that & they let me re download the video "I have much" All video are DRM activated (no rifs) & tied to the PS3 = "False advertisement on Sony's end" The button says "BUY/RENT" video. It should say RENT/RENT, cause even if you buy it & you lose them you never get them back !

If you back up a video. It backs it up in a folder EDIT-"PS3/EXPORT/VIDEOBKP" The video & title with a Date/ID,Number String + extension .BKP. If you view the backup on a external the video look normal from a PS3 ,but the backup is not playable, unless restored to the PS3 which was bought. If you copy to anything, but a PS3 it does not look like a video, just a number string line i mentioned above ,etc

So in all truth Sony is advertising all there video with a "Purchase Button" which is "False Advertisement" being it can not be used on anything, but the PS3 you bough it on = "RIP OFF" Better to buy video in the store. Never buy any video on PSN ,i learned this lesson & i never bought anything from Sony again..

"Ever"

Thanks for the reply's guys. I don't own any psn video content but my little sister does. Anyway I installed one of her videos on my ps3 then I renamed the BKP file to rap and used reactpsn and it created a rif file but that's as far as I got with that.

That will not work buddy the .BKP is i believe short for BacKuP & is just the extension to basically archive/index the file. I thought about this a litle, if it was possible to get the DRM off, but it need to be done differently. Not sure how though,i don't think there is much about PSN video activation documented for a solution. I would check the PS3DevWiki(Dot)com for info if any. There is dat files in dev_flash1,2 or 3 ,i can not recall which one atm,but they contain DAT files from PSN after you purchase something . You have purchase.dat / category.dat ,etc those also contain info & is readable a little with HXD ..

It is possible that I may be able to downgrade her ps3 sometime soon.

If I can then I will post what "activation files" are required for this ps3 to play the video.
