I been playing music since Nintendo . You just need to know how to run your sound wires & use splitters without distorting your sound .They also have audio switch boxes that allow 2,3,4,5 connections of should to go through at one time .

Example you can have the switch box send Music sound to PC speakers using Pin-Jack to RCA ,etc & send the normal sound from the PS3 through the switch box & just press both buttons on the switch box & it will run both at once for sound ,turn down/off the game music & listen to your own. Believe me i even hooked up my Subs from my from my 1986 GTA back in the day ,lol to a amp & used a converter to plug the car stereo/app in the wall .

Anything is possible i have everything hooked up now to my PS3s + my mini MP3 player plugged in above my head in to a PC speaker with built in amp with volume control . Explore your options get creative & find the right RCA splitters or what ever kind your using ..

Don't ever say it is not possible .I always think of a way when i want something especially like music when gaming. It was easy for me cause i done my own car stereos/house/etc wired my own rides since i was very young. I am a electronics junkie & was easy the more i messed with everything myself + built custom Sub base Boxes ported/non ported .Then i ended up being a carpenter which made me even more PRO to build custom for many friends/family/myself/work/it goes on & on. I also built houses/strip malls big commercial buildings.

Never say never till the fat lady sings ,even if she does tell her to Shut the F up "YOU CAN DO IT"

No problem & you know you don't even need a switch box really. Just get RCA Jack Splitters. Get x2 RCA (Y) Splitters with [COLOR="Black"](1 male end to 2 female) Plug the PS3 sound wires RCA jacks= Red/White into Right/Left of the female ends. Now you have 2 female ends left & 2 male ends .The male ends get plugged in to a receiver or directly in the TV sound input = (Right/left = Red/White).

You want the sound to be even, so the sound will be coming out of both Left/Right.

Now you have the PS3 connected you have 2 Female ends left on the RCA (Y) Splitters = 1 Right + 1 Left inputs. If using a MP3 player or IPOD.? Anything with sound output jacks even if it is for head phones & can play music + Volume control is a (A+).

Example Get IPOD + a (Y) splitter/Adapter => Pin jack male to x2 RCA males ends= Red/White = Right/Left = (Y) Splitter again this time you use a Pin jack male to plug into the Ipod = Plug pin jack in the ipod out put = Then plug the 2 RCA male ends into the last 2 Female ends that are left from the original 1st RCA (Y) adapters you plugged in to the TV/Reciever.

may seem harder that it looks ,but it is not after you understand. Imagine me i have 4 PS3s + a projector & more +switch box everything leading to my receiver 25+ feet away.. Crazy set up but it is perfect with the sound. Especially my nice little speaker above my head with another volume control . When i am laying down in my bed watching movies or playing games at night real nice having a speaker that is right there for quiet time.

I think you get the idea .Don't let anyone try to say this will mess up the sound of the PS3 cause i been doing this + many other methods for 27yrs easy. I never damaged anything from doing this. RCA is the easiest to do. Like i said you can make it cleaner by using Switch box & other devices, but for the PS3 if HDMI for video or Svideo/etc & sound what i mentioned above = Easy as pie.

Just need to plan visualize in your head what you would need. The right kind of Wires/Splitters & you will be listening to music playing games same time.

I hope you get what i mean & i did not make a mistake i am tired ATM. If anyone tries good luck.It is sweet you get music for all games no need to any editing of the params, etc ...
