Updates 2 and 3 clarify a whole lot of things.
Seems the guy breached Sony's contract. Probably, a part of that contract was that he could not take part in commercials featuring competing products for X amount of time.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is by no doubt a clone of Super Smash Bros, so if $ony were to let this go on it would have shown that they liked their competition.

It really is like $ony dont want people to buy their products, even though I am boycotting them myself.
They are applying a trademark law, which is technically for products, onto people and actors?! We all thought $ony had gotten as low as they could, but yet again they prove us wrong! The guy is an actor, his job is to commercials and tv shows as a living, one may contradict, mirror or relate to another, this is just downright bonkers!

@bigo93 , $ony shouldn't have a HUMAN as a mascot but a video game character like Microsoft (Master Chief), Nintendo (Super Mario) and Sega (Sonic) have! Choices for PlayStation/$ony mascots: - Nathan Drake (Uncharted) - Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet) - Kratos (God of War) - Cole MacGrath (inFamous) - Tomas Sevchenko (KillZone) He's an actor, and for $ony he's "Kevin Butler" but for other advertisements he's himself or whoever character they pay for him to be. |
