Maybe a coincidence but i have completed step 12-8 then 13-1 and 2 but when i go to 13-3...all i got was green light, for 5-6 seconds then 3 short beeps and the blinking red light, think i may have RLOD(YLOD that need reflow?)mine is an 80gb cheche01 motorstorm model ... but could also be a semibrick?
Any help/advise would be appreciated...and yes, i have read numerous thread/googling for ylod/rlod and did help friend heatgun a few of those but this one is a first cex2dex.

edit***also look as if there's no power going to the usb port...tried plugging in a 1st gen ipod i used to jb this same ps3 and got no power. Is it a brick and would need progskeet?

HELP PLZ im on step 3 i waited till the ps3 went from green to red and then i pulled out my usb and put it in the computer. I found the backuprflash.bin but i cant find the "Lv2diag_exit.self" what should i do? I dont wanna proceed until this is clarified thanks!

Hey guys,

I was able to follow the guide and got my phat 60GB ps3 to DEX OFW 4.11 which is great. I then found out that I would need MFW 3.55 for DEX to be able to play my backups. I then try to run the FACTORY_SERVICE_MODE_TOOL_v02 and it wont load and since I have P3 GO I did put the system to factory service mode and attempt to downgrade and it did NOT downgrade of course. I then try to kick it out of service mode and now its stuck. Is there any solution or this ps3 is gone for good? I've read some stuff online which it seems that there is no solution unless there will be a signed lvdiag.self exit for 4.11. Please confirm and also let me know if there is any solution, flasher etc....

I did the same thing with my nor. You can not exit FSM on a higher firmware than 3.55.
You should of used a downgrader pup dex 3.55.

I fixed mine with my e3 flasher.
But I think you may be able to use target manager in ProDG, to install Roger 3.55 DEX DG

When using Prodg and installing Roger 3.55 DEX, it errors out and now when I start the ps3 it's in bluescreen and if I hit X, it shows "Debugging Station SDK version: 411.000"
Anybody have an idea what may have happen here?

I was able to get out if by holding the power for 5 seconds while its on standby. Retrying again on loading Roger 3.55 Dex...

YEAH!!!! i followed this one How to get PS3 out of Factory/Service Mode - YouTube and i got out of FSMode.

Now i cannot boot in to petitboot....i followed

STEP 7 :: SETTING UP PETITBOOT

1- Connect the USB Storage Device to the PS3.
2- Install "setup_flash_for_otheros.pkg".
3- Install "install_otheros.pkg".
4- Install "boot_otheros.pkg".
5- Install "reboot.pkg".
6- Run "Setup FLASH for OtherOS" (PS3 will beep and return to XMB).
7- Reboot your PS3 by manually pressing the Power button.
8- Run "Install OtherOS" (PS3 will beep and return to XMB).
9- Run "Boot OtherOS" (PS3 will beep and return to XMB).
10- Run "Reboot" (this will take you to petitboot).

When i start "Reboot in XMB" it will reboot my PS3 into the normal XMB??? What do i need to do?

You must be on 3.55 or lower to exit FSM. I did the same thing on DEX 4.20. I had to use my e3 flasher to fix it.

I dumped my nand using preloader but my bootloader is not at 0x000000.

In fact it looks like it would if it were a software dump.

Forgot to say that I managed to brick my PS3 by flashing the dump made by preloader back to the nand using preloader again. Not sure why it doesn't work. Maybe SYSCON?

Same issue as @katzu21 , I tried to dex->cex but as mention on the first post i should have to install the cfw before try to exit fsm.

I am trying to get factory service mode or downgrade with my hd2 and psfreedom without success.

I will search a cheap solution until next month and will buy an e3 flasher if no success.

Edit: Tried with my psp whith ps3jig no luck either, the PS3 power off to fast to initiate USB. Obsolutely need of flasher, I certainely buy the e3 flasher the next week until then i will try to passthrought without spend 100€.
