Same problem as @xerxesrex . When I get to step 9 of step 2 it's telling me that it's not found. Even though it's showing me what drive it's in. I've also used all four ports and the sdd1 method.

it has to do with your USB file system format, just go to the root, "cd /"
and type "wget tinyurl.com/createhdd" before typing this command make sure your ps3 is connected the internet wiredly.

then after you have downloaded the create_region_hdd.sh succesfully, run it from the root directory. the rest just follow the steps.

make sure you burn your linux image into a cd.

That was it. After reading that part I formatted my flash drive to fat32, again. It was already fat32 but I guess it wanted a better fat32. After that everything went fine. Except I now about to partition my drive for the third time because no matter what I enter I'm left with only 32 GB of GameOS space on a 320 GB drive. I would like to dedicate about 40 GB only to RedRibbon and the rest to my GameOS. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

sorry for the late reply, i wasn't checking out as frequent as before, for the partition size, I guess it was pre-fixed when you download the choice of your CFW, you can choose either 1/2 of the space to be your OtherOS, or 1/8 of the space to be your OtherOS, or something like that, and so on so forth. you may wanna check back where u downloaded the CFW.

if anyone who is more experience, kindly advise, i am keen to find out this as well. thanks :D

OtherOS can be used on PS3 Slim? Oh wow, this is awesome, wish my PS3 was on 3.55 FW so I could use Linux on it.

Many thanks for the tutorial which I might possibly use in the future!

run this:

# cat create_hdd_region.sh | tr -d "\r" > /tmp/create_hdd_region2.sh
# . /tmp/create_hdd_region2.sh

this will get rid of the return characters in the script (you copied this file from a windows machine didn't you?) then copy the file to /tmp where it will be ran from there.
