No idea my friend. I would presume there are people messing with PS3's of all types to be the next uber hacker to deliver homebrew and back ups to anyone with a PS3 1-4k. When it will happen, is another question. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, i changed my ps3 whith a friend, now i have a CECH2504B model but unfortunately it's a datecode 1b...
Still have to wait...
