He has multiple dumps and he is trying to take pieces from each one to make a good dump. He is going to try and get the correct bootldr from one of his other dumps. Does that seem possible?

I don't know if that is possible.

I think the clip needs to be on good and get a dump that looks like this.
Some values will be different, because that is my cech-2001a.

I say you should try and modify the clip. By scraping some plastic off the one side. Like this.
Once the clip is secured, by pressing it onto the clip and flush to mobo, tape it down, use a coin, some foam, something. and get a good dump.
I believe that is your only hope.

open windows calculator
set to programmer mode
tick "hex" on the left and type the above "bootloader" size in HEX e.g 2F170 then tick "dec" on the left in the calculator to get size in bytes, verify this value with the "bytes" in the rightclick menu/properties of the "bootloader" = 192880 bytes
So I'm assuming I'm to use the FlowRebuilder and "Byte-reverse and Extract". Then select the bootlder file and find its size to check it.

The problem is that my redump fails to extract that info. The folder is empty when it finishes.

Or am I misreading what you ment?

Wow I'm a little slow. Haha

Yeah I've already redid the clip and this time I'm sure I have it on right. With my redump I've found the bootldr in the Hex. Well at least found the header of it.

I just dont know where the other 180ish bytes of it is. If I could find that then I could recompile it into a new dump. Test it and voila (hopefully).

Hey guys. Look at my first post. The redump picture looks just like some good dumps... Well the bootldr area that is. After the identifier it gets mumbo jumbo codey. But from my original dump... It shows conserve, sdk version, blah blah blah.... Should I over right all this?
Or did i miss a step somwhere?

Thank You @playerkp420

Because of your good dump I think I might have compiled in the full bootldr of my dump. I extracted it and this time it shows 189.

Could someone double check it for me?

Edit:

I didn't use any of playerkp420's info from his dump. I just used it as a reference as to where things started and stoped. then looked to see what was similar on my original and redump. Then compiled the code to make a new dump all together... hopefully making a working one.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'VE ****ING DONE IT!!!

Party at my place! Woot woot.

Thank you everyone who has contributed to my project and made it possible to save my PS3.

I guess you can say I just debricked a perma-brick. :-D

I guess I'll start up a TUT thread later so the PS3Hax community can also fix their perma-bricked PS3's. But in order to do this I'm gunna need everyone to start asking questions now so I can make a clear and simple TUT.

Thanks again everyone. And keep contributing.

That's awesome! I'm glad to see you fixed it. I'll be looking forward to the tutorial, as it should help a lot of users.

Yup!
I was lucky that it wasn't flashed over. Finding where tgings started and what to hex took me 5 hours. but in the end it was worth it.

When I get home from work I'll be trying to solve my next problem. I think I'm stuck in FSM. Not sure. The screen asks me to plug in my controller and a media drive with 4.25 update in it. Can't get anywhere after that. I'll bug ya later for help.

Could someone point me where to go from here.

After I flashed the NOR from my (now) good dump. I got the screen that says plug in a controller and hit the ps button. What do I do now? A link would do fine.

Thanks in advance!
