A friend gave me his copy of the avengers 3d disc from the big boxset.I put it in my cfw ps3 and got an error that I needed to update firmwareo get proper decryption keys.is there any way of getting bluray keys out of a newer fw and put them in 3.55 kmeaw?

If you do not have a spoof installed try it .Go to rebug.me install the 4.00+ spoof for 355 PS3s.. Make sure you download the proper one install from USB then set the spoof in XMB.. Check your PS3 software version make sure it says 4.0 or higher. Personally i would use the spoof without reactpsn patching. I know this worked before so i would try it & recently i told someone to try it & it still worked to get past that key message.

edit: googled and found a mediafire mirror .installing spoof now...

WoW since i download everything PS3 related i actually have them for CFW 355 ..Rebug 355 spoof + webpage i saved . There is 2 spoof's also geohot + non signed..

Sorry but for FFS this has come up a few times and I'll say it again....


The reason newer blurays won't work is because the PS3 on firmware 3.55 genuinely doesn't have the keys needed to decrypt them. Bluray keys are updated every few months with a new set of keys, when a new set is used, your playback device will need new keys to play the blurays using the new keys.

We're approximately 5 years into bluray and on roughly version 40 of the MKB keyblock, that's 40 key revisions.

Let's say the PS3 has keys for MKB up to version 30 in 3.55 firmware, it means that any bluray using an MKB version greater than 30, WILL NOT PLAY.





A spoofer is a completely different thing, that is simply a trick to make software you have a higher version number of PS3 firmware installed - Totally different issue. You could have version 999999999999.999999999999 spoofer and you STILL WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY THOSE BLURAYS DISKS!

That's what I was afraid of. I m so close to legitimizing this ps3 it ain't funny.....

Copy your bluray to your ps3 via multiman. FTP your the copy to your PC/laptop. Convert it to .mp4 and copy it back. Or, if you have a bluray reader in your PC/laptop, you can just do it directly. You need to download the proper softwares... I've read on the net, can't remember the site, that it works.
