You see this is what I dont get, M$ and other companies have gone to some lengths to force some companies and patent holders to reduce te cost of their licenses arguing that that patent is essential for the given devices and in favor of consumers.
We know they've done this with a lot of patents.

So question is why not do tat with Blu-ray and NTFS, it's clear BD won the format war against HD-DVD, so it's essential to all devices that use disks now.
People use hdds to store a range of personal data, videos, music etc; and as most use Windows and hence NTFS, it is essentila that other devices can support this as well.

So have they done that? Or has it already been done and they are just too cheap to make things convenient for consumers.
We know Łony were talking BS about the Vita memory cards, every Tom Dick and Harry has a microSD card, and those already with $ony devices have Duo cards; yet $ony had the need to create yet another unique card for this single device. But then again, we all now know how greedy $ony are.

19x as powerful doesnt mean anything if nothing is added to the gameplay.... just my two cents.... Im hoping the next gen consoles have way better web browsers and the tech associated with them for viewing videos.

@VIRGIN KLM Dreamcast didn't even require to be hacked as it has absolutely no protection against CDR discs, anyone could burn a Dreamcast game and play it right after.

Also homebrew is just pop in the disc and run it.

Great gaming console, I remember playing a disc with SNES games, and one of them I kept going back to Super Marion on a level where it had ghosts.

I know, that's what I meant with the whole concept.
The bad thing on this hack though is that some discs exceeded the 750MBs in data and they had to be stripped in order to fit in a CDR. Some games unfortunately didn't work that way so you were pretty forced to use another method to load up backups/isos or just buy the actual legit game disc.

Still the inferior example graphics card is still more powerful than the PS3.

You forgot that the PS3 was a really powerful piece of hardware at the time (sold for $600 at a loss), as opposed to Nintendo whose hardware is NOWHERE near high-end, which shows in the Wii U, sold for $300, and as we all know Nintendo doesn't sell consoles at a loss, it probably takes them $150-200 to manufacture, as opposed to $800 for the PS3 back in 2006.

I expect the Wii U to be 1,5 times the power of a Xbox 360.
