convert CFW to DEX

hi guys

I have 3.55 firmware on my PS3 and as you know lately many games fix is been done for dex :-( I read some tutorial how to change but is it true that your should manually change all those things in a hex editor etc. Isn't there a easier way to convert ? and if I change to DEX is it possible to change back to CFW ?

Nope, you can do everything very easily if you read up on newer guides.

HOWEVER, we need to know what PS3 you have (phat, slim nand or nor) before we can recommend a guide...

YES, you can always go back to CEX but there is no need really and the brick risk seems to be quite high.

what is the point of changing back to cex cfw? DEX has everything you need...
a patched 355DEX behaves the same as a 355 MFW...

Noob/Easy tutorial:
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=40898

as @DEFAULTDNB said you didn't state your model (NAND/NOR) ... the above tut is only for NOR....

Dex has been around a few months now, and it means you can play all the latest games such as Borderlands 2 and Dishonored (provided they have an update available)! You can also upgrade and downgrade at your leisure from (for example) 4.21 DEX down to 3.55 DEX and you can enjoy homebrew too!

Any new games require an update file for the game at hand, and the game needs to be formatted on a USB drive with PS3GEN or GENPS3. You can play older games through target manager over your network if you like, or off ext HDD through mmCM if you downgrade to 3.55 DEX.

Sounds just like CEX to me. CEX can do all of that, right?

CEX 3.55 can downgrade to 3.41 or lower. The method is unknown to me at this time but it is irrevelant because I don't see a reason to EVER downgrade below 3.55. Why would you and why is that important to DEX?
