well tnx for the suggestion,but i already tried to go FSM with my fat PSP(JIG) but when i press power/eject my ps3 just start normal and no signs of FSM and without FSM i cant install LVL2diag and my model no is CECH-2504B

depending on the Firmware you might enter FSM and still dont see the red box of FSM on the lower right, instead you will see a normal screen.It happened with my PHAT 40GB launch when i was using preloader to convert that one to DEX but i was on FSM and it worked like a charm.if the software FSM doesnt work use a jig.after you have done everything right and the ps3 should be in FSM but doesnt seems like it succeeded turn off the ps3 put the stick with the lv2diag and the pup on the rightmost port and them simply press the power button once and wait.if the light blinks and doesnt open up the screen wait have a beer and when it shuts off exit fsm with lv2diag step2 and install your prefered mfw.all this require you to be on 3.55 max.

Sorry for hijacking the thread op, but....Really? When you toggled fsm, did it boot like normal? Or did it shut off by itself and then you turn it back on and have no red box? I'm asking because I have a chechE01 model on firmware 1.94 ofw. I tried to use my e3 card reader to get into fsm, but it just boots up, and never shuts itself off. It also doesn't show the red box. Think it may be in fsm?

Nevermind. I guess I answered my own question. It seems as if I am not getting into fsm. My e3 card reader lights up red and then the XMb boots up, but the card reader never turns blue or shuts off the ps3. Dang, I was hoping I was onto something.

PS3Jig for PSP only works on CFW 5.50. And from what I have seen, I think it might need to be a phat 1000 model.

I use my PSP 1001 on 5.50 GEN D, to enter FSM.

You should get a PSKey or e3 card reader or something that is going to work for FSM.
Then remove any disc, and downgrade to 3.40.

Another thing to try is format a usb stick to fat32, with the quick box UNCHECKED. Then try to install OFW 3.55 from the recovery menu.

when i did it with my x3max the dongle turned blue but the console didnt auto shut down, instead i shut it down(via software) and then turned it on, no red box etc.after doing it for a while i tried to backup my flash via preloader and it succeded and the rest of my procedures suceeded too.but yeah if the light stays red on e3 then i think you are not in fsm and i also think you need to reflash your e3 with a special downgrade payload.

Thanks for the tip. I am using the e3 card reader downgrade.bin currently. It worked on all the ps3 have downgraded from a higher firmware to 3.55. For some reason since I am on a lower firmware, 1.94, it won't do anything. I found a few other downgrade.bin files for the the e3 card reader, but they where for 3.50, 3.20 etc. Can't seem to find anything for the firmware I am on. Think I could use a downgrade.bin from a different fsm dongle? Also, I downloaded the .img files for android and iPod touch. Anyone know how to use those? Maybe @playerkp420 ?

I don't think you can use a .bin for a different dongle for your e3 card reader. Each dongle has its own .bin.

I don't really know much about using ipod or android. (I have success with my PSP), But I know there are guides to set them up. Try searching.

I still think the problem is dirty USB ports, or need to try a different USB. Maybe find an older one. Or format it with the format utility in PS multi tools. Try different allocation sizes.

TNX man! it worked ,,i think i found the problem actually when i was in Rebug 3.55.2 firmware,,when i used the rebug option but can't remember what i have done there and after that my ps3 went to the RSOD,,

And right now i dunno how my ps3 become 3.55 to 3.40 and i'm sure that on my usb there was 3.55 firmware,,I think right now my PS3 is in DEX mode cuse there is a DEBUG SETTINGS at the end in system settings,,,but my question is how

The rebug option i meant was the DEX and CEX,and this app was included with the rebug firmware,and i swithced to xmb-debug and maybe after that i had that rsod and my ps3 become DEX maybe i'm wrong and i'm a dumb****
