can anyone help me encrypt vsh.self.elf to vsh.self

just download magic pkg. go to tools and choose self rebuilder.

i would recommend using scetool, as magicpkg just rebuilds for sdk 1.00

i am using scetool but i keep getting error "please specify a file type"

this works for me

"scetool.exe -v --sce-type=SELF --compress-data=TRUE --skip-sections=TRUE --key-revision=0A --self-auth-id=10700005ff000001 --self-vendor-id=01000002 --self-type=APP --self-fw-version=0003005500000000 --encrypt vsh.self.elf vsh.self"

but you could also use that command line tool from ps3mfw builder. i think it will rebuild like original unlike magicpkg

be careful on vsh, it tends to give rsod on wrong patching, according to my failed attempts

yes, of course. just wanted to warn you. and i think you shouldn't risk any kind of rsod, as i have another cechl04 which suffers permanent rsod

i remember one occurence on 3.56 jfw, which was not recoverable through recovery menu. i have got rsod on a slim after using their reactma tool and it was a permanent one, and i had to fix it with linux on 3.55 (as there wasn't that tool available)

well with that test i got a black screen on boot. nothing would happen, but luckily i could access recovery menu.

sorry for that and it wasn't my intention, but i am patching fw files only with ps3mfw builder directly for safety and i have never encountered any blackscreen with wrong vsh

what task can you patch vsh.self with ? i need to edit some values in there
