Also you can always have a new CPU reballed on it. Its still cheaper to do that then buy a new console

Well, now it's got YLOD just like expected and there's no way a reflow would ever solve the mess I made of that chip.
I've taken this son of a ***** apart for the last time. Gonna sell it for parts.
Bought a slim today so now its OFW for me, it came with 4.11.
Man I'm gonna miss my 3.55.
Hope Santa comes early this year and brings us that long awaited 4.21 CFW.....

Isn't the CPU married to the motherboard? I don't think you can replace it. Only the gpu can be replaced AFAIK.

Yes you can you just need a dump of the nand for the donor CPU Chip so that you can flash it to the donor PS3 Mobo

Do not forget to SYSCON! NAND OR NOR FLASH NOT ENOUGH WHEN change the CPU!
