Hello!

Hi all,

I recently acquired a vintage PS/3 from a friend and am really enjoying GT5 on it. However I am totally fed up of the LONG LONG LONG load times...

I wonder if Jailbreaking will make it any faster ?

Welcome to the PS3Hax forums grimbly

As a jailbroken PS3 runs games from harddisk it will load GT5 faster.... big question is on what FirmWare your PS3 is and what the CECH-xxxx number is ...

As I recall gt5 forces you to pre install 5 gigs or better to internal hdd, so whether it is running on ofw or cfw shouldnt make any difference in load times since in both cases the internal delivers the data.

CECH-XXXX model/serial number is found on the back of Phats and on the underside of slims IIRC.

4.11 = you need a hardware flasher (which one depends on if you have a NAND or NOR) and FSM dongle to downgrade, if your hardware is hackable:

CECH-1000 series = hackable Phat (80% NAND 20% NOR)
CECH-2000 series = hackable Slim (NOR)
CECH-2500 series = 50/50 if its hackable depending on datecode (near serial) (NOR)
CECH-3000 series = not hackable
CECH-4000 series = not hackable
