All you would be missing is PSN.

I know HB can be packaged as a Disc based game, how does that effect peek/poke? For example, can showtime be packaged as a game disc like UFO racer was, would it work without peek/poke?

Hello everyone

I have a question, what if i have a friend that is on OFW 4.25, and we take the BD drive out and plug it in-to my ps3 that is on CFW 3.55 to extract the KEY, i'm guessing that every BD drive have their on KEY's, will that work to make this 3K3Y product on my friend ps3

Wouldnt you need to remarry the drive to the 3.55 console? if you did that then how would you re-remarry it back to the OFW 4.25 console?

Arent the keys stored in EID4 anyway?

The key is not on the drive... the key is in the flash so nopes...

Unless someone finds a way to peek&poke > 355 i dont see this ODDE being of much use apart from psn/not waiting for keys... and if someone found a way to peek&poke on higher versions it would make the warez side of the device kind of redundant...

Some thoughts on this and the possibility of HB with this device (after I initially thought "NO") :

DEX builds of Showtime can run on 3.60-4.21 DEX, mst be because they are fselfed though... Does showtime even require syscalls?

At first I thought:
Perhaps it would be possible to run showtime on OFW 4.x by building it as a disc image, and loading it through 3K3y. But if that is possible then modified isos should be possible too? I highly highly highly doubt this because they stipulated "1:1" isos.

But then I thought:
Surely the eboots would need to be signed for that firmware, so people hoping to run 3.55, get keys, update to 4.25, run backups, WONT be able to run homebrew unless either: the homebrew is signed for 4.25 / OR the 4.25 FW is patched to read fselfed/unsigned eboots.

Conclusion:
I still think: No.

@DEFAULTDNB you can call syscalls on 4.xx (well only some of them i think and it depends on the program's authID)

Now this is just me theorizing but we could generate a valid iso provided we know how sony does that and reverse... the tool sony sells to devs to create master disks its in the wild for sometime...

and if i remember correctly TB had some games in wich they sold BR disks with the fixes... so i think it should be possible...

But meh.. this product it's not for me (unless miraculously someone finds a way for it to work on 3k/4k) i will not trade the comodity of a patched 355 for this on my current console...

IIRC deank said you have to rewrite all syscalls for 3.60+ FW
