Need help With RSOD fix and Flashing to 3.55 CFW will perfer to pay and send off to someone who can do this for me in london uk area

have a RSOD on old fat model Done some research and seems easier to install cfw and then RSOD fix need help with flashing a fat PS3 cech l03 back to 3.55 or just doing a full mod for me to cfw 3.55 with all multi manger installed for me in london area prefer to send to someone and pay to fix it have soft modded wii ds psp in past and would be ok installing cfw 3.55 but not too hot on soldering thanks for any help guys J

Don't know about the RSOD but can recommend baileyscream on here for downgrade as he done one for me and great service

What FW was your old PS3 on? if 3.55/3.41 I think you could get a FSM dongle and use the RSOD fix from there/reinstall OFW 3.55/3.41(depending) and then update/install 3.55 CFW.

If your PS3 was 3.55+, my suggestion wont work. @baileyscream should know best.

thanks it came with 3.40 or 3.55 i think so will look into dongle
just been reading Baileyscream idiot guide and although happy with 80% of instructions would struggle with soldering side and dont wont to totally brick this

Best to make sure, do not attempt to get into factory service mode on a PS3 with higher than 3.55 firmware on it, else you will never be able to get back out of it.

current fw is 4.20 and wont go lower been reading and researching for a hour and think am gonna need to be flashed to 3.55 then RSOD fix and then still could have a problem so gonna wait and see if anyone local offering to be paid for it. thanks again

if your above 3.55 then there is no service mode files encripted with the correct keys to allow you to come back out of fsm

it needs hardware downgrading

if your ps3 stays on while it has the red screen then it should be possible to downgrade although it will be done blind and then when its on 3.55cfw the service mode red screen of death files can be used.

thanks for that baileyscream im gonna asked round most places dont even know what we are talking about.

i have soft modded wii's for everyone i know and can understand all your guides with whats going on with software but hardware and flashing is one to learn in the future and i dont wanna totally brick this old ps3.
