After a lot of thought and patience and drama I finally have the balls and a PHAT to go for a DEX Conversion. Now, I don't own a E3 Flasher so I really really hope I don't F*ck it up bad. So please help me even with the dumb questions.

For CEX - DEX I am following this tutorial : http://tny.cz/4d179a08

1. After going DEX and rebooting my PS3, I will need to install a 3.55DEX FW again separately with peek/poke to continue using homebrew correct?? Will this be from XMB or recovery?? Will homebrew work on 3.55+DEX??

2. Will all my existing game data and save data be affected??

3. I will lose my Blu-ray and DVD functionality. So, this is just related to movie playback, correct?? Or will my PS3 Games blu-rays will become useless as well??

4. Upgrading and downgrading of DEX FW to be done through XMB or recovery everytime??

5. If I have a game that requires 4.00FW will it work on 4.21 DEX?? (I believe it's a yes but please do confirm)

6. For Games having a DEX Fix, I first backup my game, convert using ps3gen, Install fix at 3.55DEX, then upgrade to 4.xx to play the game, correct??

I have read the de-hashing part and brick alert threads. Anything else that I should be knowing??

It should all still be there, no loss, depending on the way you convert (non linux method doesnt mess with HDD space etc) EDIT yes the tut you are following is the best IMHO (its the one I plan to use should I ever convert ) 3. I think you can install fixes on any DEX FW, so if you are on say 4.21 you can instal the update.pkg then run the game, no need to go back down to 3.55 afaik. - not 100% sure here I have read the de-hashing part and brick alert threads.
