No. A full ISO won't be the size of the disc but rather the size of the game.
A raw dump will be the size of the disc as it is a sector by sector dump.

BTW, it uses existing "folder-based" backups now.

Sadly you are correct and this thread has pointed this out several times. I have had a few rants against people thinking piracy only boxes are awesome compared to homebrew boxes.

I have not readed the whole thread, so im not sure if this has been said before, but its supposed this can load a disc backup with modifyed files, right ?
In other words... you can load a "home made disc structures"

If this works, it opens several doors to exploration:
-to look for game exploits (than needs to be combined with another exploit to scalate privileges)
-to install .pkg's (there are 3 different ways to add .pkg's to a disc... displayed different in XMB, but we can cosider them the same)
-to run homebrew EBOOT.BIN's (i heard are signed with the "disc key", that is specific for each disc)

The installation of .pkg's only means the option is here and is available to play with... if there are other errors later when installing is a different problem of signatures, the point is the XMB of an original firmware will accept this type of .pkg installations from a disc
