Interesting.
If we get signed homebrew to run on ofw4.21, then could we make homebrew that looked for lv0.2 keys ?
It's probably not that simple just to look for keys, but maybe the homebrew could run an exploit then? Or an overflow crash?

1/ You can't sign homebrew for 3.56+ because we can't calculate the private keys for that.

2/ lv0.2 public (not private, once again cannot calculate those and therefore cannot resign) are mostly in bootldr (to be more exact, the bootldr revisions found on consoles that rely on lv0.2, so you can't get lv0.2 keys by dumping bootldr from a CFW console.

Let me take this thread to ask something thats bugging me

I bought at the beggining of this year a "second hand" PS3 that was brand new. Never opened. The seller claimed it was jailbreakable so i bought it.

Surprise! its firmware was 3.41 so it was perfectly jailbreakable

The thing thats bugging me is that its SKU is 2511A and if im not mistaken, in the wiki says it had 3.56 ofw from factory and its downgradeable to 3.55 only.

The DateCode that should match my PS3 should be 0C because it tells me 3.4 is the minimum version applicable to my PS3 but instead is 1A

CECH-250x and CECH-251x are the same. The last 2 numbers only say what region it is.

You can find the manufacturing date on the black sticker on the bottom of the ps3.
In real small print on the middle, bottom of that sticker, your ps3 says:

July, August, or Sept 2010

I think i read that Multiman's discboot app does not require peek/poke to run , wouldn't it be nice if we could sign it and install it / transfer it to an ofw CECH3004 ?
