I might give up..

I opened the PS3 again, scraped off as much as I dared from the clip, then taped the clip down and attached a swedish 1kr to the top. I then assembled the PS3 again, the issue is exactly the same. 01000000 after a couple of seconds. I took a picture of the E3 Flasher and it seems legit. My upload of the picture i took failed. I might be able to add it later on. The "no case, bad quality" did not apply as there is a case where there should be. The PCB line was very hard to see but I tried to take a picture that didn't turn out so well.

Will take a break until tomorrow as I'm getting a bit frustrated opening and reassembling the PS3 over and over again.

If done this to 2 slims and 1 fat without scraping anything off the clip and works perfectly. With the pennies it keeps the needed pressure on the clip and the heat shield is what pushes down on it don't be scared if you see a minor raised point on the heat shield that's fine and make sure you screw everything back completely.
I'll try more coins tomorrow. I have had the click sound when putting the clip on. The reason I only used 1 coin was indeed because the heat shield got a bit bent. But thanks for the reply, I'll try with more force tomorrow.

For a slim try for pennies first if that don't do it then go for five it won't brake your ps3. Only if yo go over that which I definitly would not suggest at all.

I had horrible luck with the clips....I went through two...
Finally bought a e3 linker board.....works awesome...
and i only had to install it once....
I dont know how many times i opened my ps3 with the clip

btw
5 pennies will lift the tin cover enough that it could lift the heatsink off the gpu. After a few minutes you may experience some video anomolies...which means ripping it open again....lol. It happened to me...

I have an E3 Linker that I got with the E3 Flasher and clip. But the reason I ever bought a PS3 that was above 3.55 was that I would be able to downgrade without soldering. I haven't soldered anything in over 10 years and back then I did it in school. I googled it and a lot of the pictures show loads of wires which by looks of it are hard to have inside the PS3 casing. Do you have a good guide to install the E3 Linker? I might as well read up on it.

I've used an E3 Flasher on a Fat and Slim PS3. Press the clip firmly, on the NOR (hearing the click mentioned by slaughter) and then tape it down with good quality tape, maintaining good (even) pressure on the clip. My experience, with the slim, was that I needed to use a couple of coins, taped together, to tape on top of the clip. The Fat PS3 didn't need it.

But test it in either case. It can be a bit finky but you'll get it eventually.

I will try more coins tomorrow. However, I live in a country where pennies are hard to come by, but I have loads of other coins that might do the trick!

Find a coin that 1.55mm thick and that's equal to a pennies thickness so get four of what ever coins that are 1.55mm And no more than 20.00mm in diameter.

Don't use pennies. Copper is conductive and can mess up your PS3.

I have used nickels before. Any coin that is not copper.

Modify the clip also. If you scrape some plastic off the one side like this CLICK HERE
