I see you put my cech-2501a on the list as safe. But this is misleading.

I have someone sending me a cech-2501a in the mail to fix. Because they bricked with 4.21cfw.

Maybe that person updated from xmb instead of recovery menu.

it is hard for me to brick my console here in the philipines we dont have enough knowledge to FLASH it again or to recover/fix ps3 brick
i hope they fix and release a fix for CECH25XX

I updated mine from XMB and not recovery menu, and mine didn't brick.

That doesn't matter. If there is a bug causing bricks, the model #s in the OP are not going to tell anyone if their model is not compatible.

Sure I know that a lot of these bricks are user error. But if there is a model that it doesn't work on, you will not know from the OP.

I mean look at it this way. Some cech-2501a cannot even be downgraded to 3.55. So why do you think all cech-2501a are the same.

Also some cech-2001a is the same as cech-2001b. Just one has a 120gb hdd, and the other 250gb hdd.

WE NEED TO KNOW MOTHERBOARD REVISION, Datecode / Manufacturing date, AND BASE FIRMWARE!!!

no issues on my CECHE01 80gb partial hardware backward compatible FAT
went from Rebug 3.55.2 with the latest spoof.
flashed OFW 3.55 from recovery.
then flashed ROGERO 4.21 cfw from recovery

just make sure you double check your MD5 checksum on the media your flashing from.

I think you should also add CECH 2502B to the not-supported list.

Even-though I have not tested it, I think it will cause a brick.

I think going by date code would be far more exact then just "CECH-2501A"

There are multiple 25xx's for slims, and the "01" in the example above only means "us/canada" so people asking if a "CECH-2508A" would work could be asking about :

Russia, Ukraine, India, Central Asia 120gb or 160gb, JTP-001, 3.40
Russia, Ukraine, India, Central Asia 120 or 160gb, JSD-001, 3.40-3.50
or
The Russia, Ukraine, India, Central Asia 160gb JTP-001 with 3.60 min praxis....

Using date codes in addition might narrow it down?
