I don't believe cheesethief has contradicted what you posted because there are some 250X consoles that seem to contain a "metldr.1.5".

If you look at a flash dump from these consoles you will not see metldr.2 but you will find what looks like a normal metldr with extra data in it.

So if we include the metldr 1.5 with the 2nd revision then both of you could be right at the same time.

I just learned more from you than from the wiki. <_<

Edit: Yeah, I am pretty sure he did not mean me, but the wiki itself.

I didnt say @Cheesethief had contradicted anything. I said the wiki was contradictory to itself

You had a disc in the drive and you "updated" to the FW on the disc.

Take the disc out and try over again. (By that I mean re-update to 3.55 OFW and go from there)

I have found a tool which tells you the Base firmware on your PS3. I will share with you, the use is very simple:
Copy into /PS3/UPDATE (on a usb stick or disk) and try to install from XMB (system update, choose usb). This will tell you which is the base Firmware on your device.

it's totally safe it won't reboot your ps3 or nothing. My CHEC-2501A came with 3.40.

Hope this helps little more.

thanks
Attached Files
File Type: rar PS3UPDAT.rar (3.7 KB, 8 views)

yes i noticed that also, but if you download and unrar it, you will got the correct file size (it seems that is pure text inside, and text are the files you can compress more).

If you have it already on your signature i will remove the link.

still don't know if i should install shis sh*t or not xD
