These Lv0 keys didn't math get them like a year ago and posted that proof on twitter? And said he wouldn't release it. I don't know if this is the same thing or not.

modchip is just a excuse to get some money.

problem is real devs dont want money, gratitude, fame, they want Knowledge.

I´ve really thought long and hard if i should go on a rant but i´ll give it a try anyway.
I´ve had a ps1, ps2, psp and now own a ps3 and an xbox360.Of all of them only my ps1, my first "owned" console, didnt run pirated games, and that was because i was 8 to 14 when i had it.Every other console i have ever had was a pirate device.(I also play pirate PC games just for consistency sake,i guess).And make me imho a very f @cki ng insightful person to judge a console scene.
Now, im also an hardcore gamer,case you hadnt noticed,and on top of that im a computer science college student and for that reason I get live in the type of environment 99% of the dev and app maker of the piracy scene come from so i get to see for myself that 95% of these people are gamer or at least game enthusiasts, be it console games, pc games or both.
Now to get to the f @cki ng point.Why the f@ck would people buy "game consoles"(albeit with extra, half-assed, features to make you believe its ok to pay 300 for it when you, deep down ,know its only worth 150,thats business baby(s))not want to play pirated games in said console and save themselves hundreds of dollars/euros in games who will get outdated in 2 years or worse, get the inevitable sequel. We are talking about PS3s,Xboxs, MegaDrives, etc.THEY ARE DEDICATED GAMING HARDWARE DEVICES, they are not tablets,iphones,smartphones,laptops.SO WHY THE F@CK CAN YOU EVEN MUSTER THE THOUGHT THAT IS NOT OK TO WANT TO PLAY PIRATE GAMES,OH WAIT YOU THOUGHT YOU BOUGHT A BLURAY PLAYER AND NOBODY TOLD YOU YOU COULD PLAY GAMES IN THIS THING, IN THAT CASE I UNDERSTAND YOUR UTTER STUPIDITY,HOLY F @king KNIGHTS OF THE RIGHT WAY TO MAKE PIRACY, F@CK OFF!
The second thing i wanted to rant about is the perception that all devs who inhabit the scene today are somehow the lost sons of DarkAlex the selfless, the provider, the one who showed the way.
They are almost all a bunch of efamers who dont care if you play pirate games or not,ITS NOT ABOUT YOU ITS ABOUT THEM,IN CASE YOU HADNT GOT IT YET.But the overall picture is more complicated than that.I´ll explain my view.
There are 3 types on a scene: the crypto/math wizards(Geohot,Fail0verf0w,etc) the middle level app makers,some possessing more skill or knowledge of cryptography than others(Dean,Rogero,etc) and the gamers.The problem it that normaly this 3 tiers dont ever communicate with each other willingly. The crypto guys do it for street cred and efame, they do give a f@ck if the gamers get to pay new games nor are very willing to share their findings with the app makers, the app makers normaly have to wait for keys or tools to get leaked or released to build their apps for said FW, and the gamers ,well, they get to play the games and validate the efforts of the app makers. The crypto are self contained in that the dont need cred from the gamers since they normaly prefer to have everybody running(fellow cryptos and app makers) around them begging for scraps, they are the power junkies of the bunch.

Why do you (and others) think the security is the same for lv0 and lv0.2

I totally agree the mod chip isn't needed for the lv0 PS3's... but lv0.2 is some other story I think. Now only the already hackable PS3 can have an open OS, all others are still locked in $ony's private prison

Positive thing is to read we actually need to also thank graf_chokolo (and not to forget Glevand) for this hack. Without his (their) hard work for OtherOS++ this wouldn't be possible
Don't misunderstand me btw, OtherOS++ was the tool but @JuanNadie worked hard with this tool to get what we actually wanted. Thanks for that also although you don't like it we have it now....

its just that i always thought that lv0 keys = i could hack my ps3!!

but now all the arrows are pointing to the opposite of that. just another update for 3.55 users.

even regarding pirating the latest games.

didnt we have true blue? ( as lame as it was it DID work. )
