Hi,

Is it possible to play 1080p movies in a AVCHD structure external without the Cinavia protection?

Disable Cinavia Installer for 3.41 and 3.55 CFW/MFW will permanently install the necessary ‘Cinavia Free’ video modules (excluding AVCHD/Blu-ray) to your PS3.

I just want to play all the movies with DTSMA, and by now it's a long list:

From the sound of it no. But I havent ever tried.

Can you run your AVCHD files through something on PC to remove cinavia before putting them on you PS3, or however you plan to load them?

No, there is no Cinavia watermark removal software on the market yet.
What I do now for movie playback is:
1 Download a big mt2s file.
2 With tsmuxer I split the mt2s into 4GB parts and also convert the mt2s file into a AVCHD file structure.
3 Tsmuxer also copies the folder on a external FAT32 hdd and then I can play the movie.

This way I always have the best quality.
But there is no disable trick for 3.55 yet then?

Hopefully the Lv0 keys can change that..

IDK I just rip movies to 720p MP4 AC3 and play them from my XMB on my KMEAW machine with cinavia fix from rebug.

If I was doing 1080p I would be doing the exact same thing, but with bigger files.

Thanks for the tip. But I only want to play my movies at the highest quality possible. And converting (ugly and messy) to 1080p and AC3 is not my thing.
I'm playing at a 100" screen and I can see and hear anything.

It's weird that no one can break the cinavia code in the PS3 firmware.
Maybe hackers aren’t interested?

i was told that if your audio track is DTS then there's no cinavia protection.

i only watch avchd's and always go for dts, never had a cinavia issue since then...

i do watch those from usb stick

There is a simple way of removing cinavia.
Rebug team released some time ago a pkg for 3.41 and 3.55 CFW to disable it and I use it for some time now and it's perfect!:
