GEOHOT to OFW 3.55

I have 2 PS3's on CFW 3.55. One is my original jailbreak, which was geohot. I played it until it went YLOD. Then I boought a used busted PS3, fixed it and and installed KMEAW 3.55. I've been playing that for almost 2 years straight. It's been my main CFW PS3.

I eventually pulled out my original and got it working again, but I never had the need to play on it because the replacement was working so well.

I want to install the new Rogero CFW 4.21 v9. But I want to do it on my original PS3 that still had the geohot CFW. So first thing I did was install OFW 3.55 in recovery mode. Worked fine. The only question is why all of my homebrew apps and pkg installed games still work? Multiman boots up, but doesn't play any games (it says BDEMU will not work - unsupported firmware).But....PSN games that I installed as packages last year on CFW boot up and play fine. In the past, if I went to OFW, no PSN package installs worked.

I guess I'm just asking for some education as to if this is typical or not. I'll be installing 4.21 anyway soon. Just curious

i did. Just curious as to why all of the package PSN games I installed through cfw still work in ofw. I thought I would get an error if I tried to play those.

Why would you get an error, they are signed with correct keys.

They work because they are signed with 3.55 keys and therefore you can still run them because they are signed with 3.55 and act as a retail pkg from sony. The reason why you can't play multiman games is because there is no peek and poke and multiman needs that which is not jn offcial firmware. Undestand now

Perfectly...thanks! I was afraid that I did something wrong and was not really on 3.55 ofw. Thanks for the explanation.
