I must have missed this piece of news. When did $ony did this? But doesn't that mean if you have unmodified ps3 and any original game disc with 3.55 eboot will not work?

This is incorrect. It's asking for 4.40 because you haven't followed the downgrade procedure correctly. Common issue, not related to anything E3 has done to the firmware. Have a look, a couple of people had this problem on Rogero 4.21, so I'll say it again please don't spread misinformation.

Secondly, no need to be so darn rude either, Carldenning is a very helpful person round these parts.

I have tested this out and works well just with street fighter x tekken when waiting on battles it just sits there even when you hit x but not realy big deal. I'm not worried bot downgrading aspecialy when I have flasher

@unas2 , concerning installing E3 4.30 via XMB, simply update the firmware through the PS3 main menu (which is called XMB); System Update via Mass Storage. No need to enter recovery mode to update. Rogero recently released 4.30 as well, so you can try that if you want as well... I don't know if there is a significant difference between Rogero's and E3's.

@hd4life , allow me to correct myself. The 3.55 keys aren't blacklisted...Sony wouldn't do that to themselves. Sorry for the misunderstanding, on my part. DEFAULTDNB explains this best:

Can confirm it worked on my slim cech2501a n all went well from ofw3.55 n multiman still had 4.20 spoofed on.

well... i took the plunge and installed this cfw. on older fat nor ps3 with 2 usb slots. cant remember the model number ill update it in a min. i was on rebug 3.55.2, formatted the hdd, went to 3.55 ofw then upgraded to this cfw. i did all of this using recovery menu from format to ofw install to cfw. confirm everything works, but do yourself a favor and install mm 4.08.01 the backup manager included is garbage. also i can confirm psn content activates properly. downloaded the free mw3 pkg. bd mirror does not work, but is easily resolved by installing the game internally. other than that everything works fine and no bugs to report so far. model cechk series
