Hello

I've been searching around the forum the last days, but I haven't found an answer to this question;

I have a PS3 3004B, its latest supported firmware is 3.60, so I can't use a HW flasher to downgrade to 3.55. Would it be possible for me to buy a HW flasher and install CFW 4.30 directly? In that case what one should I buy?

I apologise if this is a stupid question.

this is why not. your model (and mine) are as yet "unhackable"
there is more to installing cfw than simply flashing the nor
downgrading lower than factory firmware = brick so as you know, that is also out of the question

I'm not actually talking about downgrading to 3.55, I'm talking about directly installing CFW 4.30 using a flasher.

u need to be on 3.55 to install cfw. lowest you can go is 3.60.

that is why you cant do it
