Console wont stay on power

I have console that fall from table and hdd is broke, i put another hdd and console power on and give screen that need to put 4.11 soft bla, bla, bla
but after few second its power off hdd and then itself and no red led, and if i try power console again it power on but power off in few seconds-before screen to install and format.
but if i unplug power cable then console work few seconds longer.
i notice that some little resistor is broken on motherboard and i solder points direct but now console power off immediately
any idea?

who says it's a resistor, it could be a capacitor instead, never do a shortcut unless it's a 0 ohm resistor....

is it a fat or slim ps3, it sounds like a psu problem

if the original component was black, like the 2 on the left then it was probably a resistor , if it was brown, like the 2 below then it was a capacitor..

at least that's what i think

EDIT: if you have no hdd installed will the ps3 then stay on?

Cool Not really the Resistors or Capacitors

It's most likely not the Resistors or Capacitors because they aren't doing much on the PS3 motherboard but sitting there and it could be the Fat Ribbon cable on the Blueray drive to the motherboard, or the PSU, and possibley the Control Board Cable which is used to turn the power on and off and eject disc. I would buy a few more Ribbon Cables for BRD and Control Board. Just a strong suggestion.

is it possible that you can track where the 2 solder points go, i'm guessing that one is connected to gnd (ground)...

there's a schematic for the fat one, so maybe we can track down the component. (if there's some similairity between fay vs slim)

did you also looked if connectors that are attached to the mainboard, for example the psu are still good? (loose/broken solders)
is the fan still working too?

EDIT:

ps3 should work without BD drive, at least it should stay on...

I check soldered points from psu and hdd and seems good
Check with psu from working console
Check with control board from working console
Solder tristate and connect to ground then console stay on but no usb and hdd activity
Now i leave console unplug from power and then power on it and stay on long time, so this mean that console like when components are totally empty from power or like be cold.

Probably i have something desolderd. I connect E3 but wont stay on even tristate-gnd, then i press psu, little move e3 and then work on tst-gnd, successfully back up bios.
then power off and on, and successfully format hdd and install fw but when try load game disc its power off.So or i have bad solder point or weak power so console cant stay on
sometimes fail when try connect usb.

the board should have a few Thermal components, when there's too much current drawn they heat up and resistance goes high.
it could explain when the power is off for a while that it last longer?

also did you tried to remove Bluray drive?, if that affects it?
do you have any measuring equipment to look if the 5V from the psu stays on?
