Hey all,
So I bricked my phat Cechg02 with 4.21/v1.09 (should have waited a couple of hours later....but hey.). So now I'm scouring ebay for some 2002a slims. Heaps of these are available 'Brand New and Unopened'. Some units even suggest they were received as part of a package deal - buy a TV, get a PS3.

What are the chances that these units would be on OFW 3.56+ straight out of the box?

I'm guessing that some of the people selling these wouldn't have the faintest idea what I'd be talking about if I ask them 'What FW is it on?'.

If they haven't been upgraded than they shouldn't be on 3.56. the 250X were on 3.41 & 251X were on 3.55 after that the **** hit the fan with 3.56,

BTW if you wait a couple of weeks (& are in the UK, preferably close to where I live) than I might be able to unbrick your console. I have ordered the E3 NOR flasher and hopefully it wont be a fake (like the last one I got) I have to get it from china as the UK reseller doesn't do them anymore. I will let you know when I get it, if you are willing to pay for 2-way shipping (I'm unemployed at the moment so can't afford to pay for shipping it out of my pocket, sorry) I don't mind having a go trying to fix it.

You won't be able to help him with that flasher. He has a chechG02 bricked which is NAND. The e3 is for nor consoles only.

By upgraded...I'd assume you mean upgraded by the user and not at the factory?

If these units are actually unopened...then I can take my chances and make a purchase on a 20XX series and know I get 3.55 or less.
