Another great sony strategy. Rush the ps4 as quickly as possible for three reasons :
1. Ps3 is on the road to being blown WIDE open 2. They've just released CECH-4000 and arent willing to waste money on yet a FOURTH version of ps3 with "added security" 3. They need to start contending with Wii-U Because of this I wont be caught dead near a launch ps4. Whenever Sony rushes consoles, you get the serious manufacturing faults. Its like they basically use us as a level of testers (YLOD or RSOD on ps4 anyone?)

2.)Yeah I doubt they can find any cheaper trash at the junk yard to assemble a newer cheaper ps3 with. 3.)Vita connectivity is how they plan on contending with the Wii-U. Just like 360 and smartglass. No originality anymore ![]() Sony isnt going to rush anything. Sadly they have their own schedule and it isnt like they can just pull a PS4 out of their asses. Right now they are in early prototype stage at very best. They could rush it but let us look at another console that also got very little attention before launch and failed because of it (among other reasons).... The Sega Saturn. a quote from wikipedia since many people may not know this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Sa...he_marketplace "By the end of 1994, the 16-bit video game era was in twilight in North America and gamers were eagerly anticipating the new 32-bit machines from Japan. In early 1995, Sega of America president Tom Kalinske announced that the Saturn would launch in the U.S. on "Saturnday", (Saturday) September 2, 1995.[16] This date was greatly anticipated by gamers and the media. It also allowed Sony to announce that the PlayStation release date would be one week later on September 9, 1995.[17] However, on May 11, 1995, at the first Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Kalinske announced that the "Saturnday" date was a ruse and that the system was being released nationwide by four select retailers (Toys "R" Us, Babbage's, Software Etc. and Electronics Boutique[18]) immediately.[19] It appeared that Sega had a real opportunity to take a commanding 4-month lead in the 32-bit race by beating the PlayStation to the market." Perfect example of what rushing a consumer electronic out to the public will actually turn out See what happens when there is a last minute change of plans? That console bombed and was the beginning of the end of Sega in the console market. Sadly I have been telling myself for a while that Sony is going to be the next Sega if they don't get back to the roots of how the PS brand should be.

It might be my ad block. Also there are other things Sony can do to stop the things that have happened as far as most of us have concluded. Remember we thought 3.55 was the end and wow were we wrong LOL.
You should come by and hang out in the IRC server sometime. Most of the best discussions happen there

if anything i would see sony pushing back any ps4 release to try to tighten up the security even more.
i personally am not looking forward to the next "next gen" consoles. i liked the simplicity of PS2, buy a game, stick it into the system, start the ps2 and bam game loads. no worrying if you have enough free hdd space to install game data, no forced system update that could be buggy or brick the system. no annoying popup prompt mid game for update patches if you choose to not do a initial update patch. looking at psvita and sonys newer protection on it i can see ps4 being a huge annoyance. a forced update and must be online to just rip a cd to the hdd, or copy pictures or video files. what i wonder is if sony will abandon the sooner now. i kinda hope that 3k and 4k ps3s never get the ability to use cfw |

brainwave control was a bull**** marketing ploy. everything was controlled via facial muscles and eye twitching. the waves function was not controllable as those were subconscious it took me damn near a month to be able to play UT3

@SniperSnake I know what you mean. I love computers gaming very much. But when I sit in front of a console I want the peace of mind to just be able to slap in a game and play. No system requirements no driver updates etc. Nowadays its firmware updates, game installation (can speed up loading times but still), DLC. The piece of mind to just play the game you paid for is sort of still there but dwindling fast. I heard a rumour that next gen consoles may use the internet to validate game purchases. Lets hope that doesn't happen
