this always happens! when something cool comes out, a firmware update gets release so people update n they lose out on the method like myself but still good work!

I just thought of this, DON'T try this but I just thought of this. Couldn't you swap retail firmwares? Like instead of swapping a debug firmware on HDD-A, why not put like update 1.80 on HDD-A and update 2.35 on HDD-B, follow the switching method and shouldn't it go back to 1.80? It's just a guess....

UPDATE 1:
For those who are seeking to do this method with 2 diffrent hard drive sizes, a method has been found:

for that DD_rescue utility you need Linux and a way to hook up the ps3's 2.5" sata HDD to your PC...

Thanks SniperSnake that clears it up a little.

But wait since HDD A has the extracted firmware files has anybody taken a deep look at them?
Maybe mess with em a little?

Hook it up to a HDD External Exclosure and connect it?

I am now expewrimenting with only one hdd.
I made update to debug firmware 2.15 and ejected hdd but after unsucesfull update just after licence argument.then i cloned disk in pc and after i start normal update and again ejcted hdd on licence argument and writing old image back. What do you guys think? will it work?

Has someone managed install firmware 1.60 Debug in a ps3 with firmware 1.51?

I it have tried several times and do not obtain it.

can you put debug FW on a PS3 currently at 2.35?? Or do i need to downgrade...
