Hi there
Decided to buy a ps3 today (i'm a pc gamer) but wanted to play ps3 exclusive games such as mgs4 etc. After getting home and setting it up i then decided i wanted to jailbreak said ps3 after updating it /facepalm. Looked up my model number which is cech 3003a can this be even be jailbroken? If so is there a cfw release for 4.31? Bought ps3 from argos, if i cant do anything with it whats the likelihood i might get a model which can be jailbroken if i take this one back? I have no idea what i'm doing.jpg Thanks |

Yea just read thread sounds like i'm ****ed. Cant exactly get money back either only replaced.Perhaps i could get it exchanged for another slimline model in store as that is all they sell, 320 and 12gb versions. Anyone working on hacking this partular model?Are there many others in same boat? Thanks |

There are A LOT of people in the same boat and most of the models that are being selling today are unjailbreakable, unfortunately you'll have to wait...

If i was to swap ps3 with a friends "fat ps3" (think its a 300gb) or something would i be able to downgrade firmware without using hardware?

E3 Flasher, but you'll need a console that uses a NOR flash (some FATs and all Slims). It is solderless.
Progskeet if the console uses NAND flash, but you'll need a good soldering skill. You can use Progskeet on NOR flash too.
